Soulmates of the Stars: Libra and Aquarius Connection

Way back when I was 17, I had a huge crush on this guy from another school who was a Libra. I liked him for longer than I can remember, probably more than 9 years, even though I never saw him again after we graduated and went our separate ways. When he went to college in the same city as me, we never crossed paths, and I heard he was engaged to someone he loved very much. And so, my unrequited love story ended there, with a Libra I adored from afar.

So, when J told me he was interested in my profile because he had two Aquarius women in his past who he fell in love with, and even though it wasn't a guarantee, he wanted to give it a try with me, I couldn't help but chuckle. It wasn't because I thought J was absurd, but because it reminded me of something. I have a Libra friend, and we were both really proud of our zodiac signs. She said Libra and Aquarius were the wisest signs in astrology. She thought if you put the two together, you could change the world. Maybe that's a bit of a stretch, but I liked the idea.

After our chat on the dating site, J and I continued our conversation via email, as we had agreed. And the rest will only have two colors of the text, red and violet. Enjoyed.

Subject: Have a nice weekend

Hello R,

thank you for your message.

You are a very pretty woman. I can't imagine that men aren't courting you in droves.

The money you need to live on is very little by German standards. That would be one more reason for me to stay in your country.

I just looked up how much flights there and back cost for two people. The cheapest are around 1000 EUR. That's a reasonable price. I would be very interested in giving my life a new impetus by coming to visit you and your country. And thereby giving happiness a new chance.

I have had 2 partners in the past that I was in love with. Both had the star sign Aquarius. You have the same. Although it's probably not a guarantee that we'll fall in love, I don't think it's a coincidence.

If you were to come to Germany with me for part of the year one day, you could send money to your mother. I have the opportunity to earn enough money with my business. Maybe your mother would support our relationship for this reason? Like you, I have a very close relationship with my mother.

Of course, such a relationship between two people from far-flung countries with different social norms would bring many challenges and changes in life for both of them. The question is whether everyone really wants that. But I know that we would have to see each other to find out whether we are compatible. I am ready for this challenge and a change. Are you too? I would be grateful if I could break out of my habits and perhaps find love with a woman.

What would be the best time for me to come and visit you? Can you take time off work? And what could we do together? Do you have any ideas? I think there are hotels to stay in all over your country.

I am currently busy making my house safe for the winter when I won't be here. Yesterday I went to the cinema for the first time in a long time. The time to be outside and go swimming in the lake, for example, is over for now. I'll go to the gym to work out again from time to time.

Attached are a few photos that I just took in the garden. ;-)

Best wishes,

J

Hello J,

Yes, here I live frugally and simply. I'm also not the type of woman who likes shopping or spending money. I also don't have as many clothes, shoes, or bags as most women.

Btw, I have one older sibling with 3 children, 2 from a previous marriage, and 1 from his current wife.

Yes, I see Libra and Aquarius quite compatible. Especially in terms of friendship, in some ways, they are quite compatible.

Unfortunately, I have never traveled abroad, so if I want to do so, I would have to prepare many documents such as passports and visas. I tried to make it up such a long time ago, but since I still didn't know where I wanted to go, I kept putting it off.

FYI, actually I'm also not fluent in English, through writing I can just think of what I want to convey. I am interested in learning new languages, and many people say German is difficult to learn. But, several German vocabs and Indonesian are similar, I discovered this when watching German series, i.e. Dark and 1899 (unfortunately, the season is discontinued).

How long do you plan to go on vacation? You can come at any time according to your schedule and plan. I can take time off work to meet you.

You will fly from Germany to Jakarta, right? From Jakarta, it's about an hour's flight to Bandar Lampung. You can stay in a small hotel in my city and after getting enough rest, I will try to take you on a city tour.

If you want to explore Indonesia such as Bali, Lombok, or other places first before going to my city, that's okay. But, I'm so sorry, I can't accompany you.

The photos are of my mom's house and me a few days ago.

That's all from me. Have a great Sunny-day!

R

Hello R,

nice to see you.

I like that you don't attach as much importance to buying lots of shoes and things as others do.

Natural beauty comes from within. I'm very impressed by you.

Perhaps you can apply for a passport now so that you can have it for later. Most of the time you have to wait a long time for it. I can of course also support you financially.

When I was at school I mainly learned Russian because I come from the eastern part of Germany. My English isn't the best either, but I can understand and express what I want to say.

As I've seen, I can only get a visa for 30 days and then extend it for another 30 days. So I can stay in your country as a tourist for 60 days.

I think that the end of November to the end of January would be a good time for me. I wouldn't wait much longer to book the trip.

I would enjoy traveling to different places with you the most. As you wrote: Bali, Lombok, and others.

A long time ago I had contact with a German man who lives in Indonesia with his family. I will write to him again and ask where exactly he lives and whether we can visit him. He lives somewhere in the rainforest and trades in coffee.

Today I won't be doing much. Maybe a bit of cycling. Sunday is a day of rest.

I'm looking forward to the time ahead of us.

Best wishes

J
Hello again J,

Yes, I will apply for a passport soon. Thank you so much for your kind attention, but I think I still do not need financial support yet, since I can personally handle this. After the passport comes out, I have to prepare a visa, right? This will take time.

The end of November sounds good. I mean, if you want to travel alone before visiting me or my city, that's fine. But, I can't accompany you.

Furthermore, I can accompany you to visit your friends if it's not too far away and reachable. This is because most of the provinces in Indonesia are far apart from each other. I will wait to hear from you where your friend lives.

I will be busy and have a lot to do from tomorrow until the rest of the week. I may not be able to reply to your message immediately, but I will try to reply as soon as possible. I hope you're also doing great this week.

Ps. What do you usually eat for meals? I try to eat only healthy food, i.e. vegetables, and fruits. But, sometimes I'm too lazy to maintain what should I routinely eat. :D
Subject: Travel ideas

Hello R,
how are you?

I hope you find enough rest between work.
I know that working on a computer can be very exhausting. I know what it's like to work through the night to finish what you've set yourself as a task. But it's different when you don't have a boss around to control you. Luckily, you can set your own schedule, like I do.

I've now found out where the German man lives with his family. It's quite far away from you, near Medan. Here is his website: sumatracoffeefarmstay.wordpress.com I think they would be happy to have visitors, even if the visitors help out a bit on the coffee plantation or in the house.

I'm planning to spend 6 weeks in your country. On my previous trips, I haven't planned much in advance where I'm going and when. I like to make spontaneous decisions and I'm not so focused on going to places where there are a lot of tourists. Ultimately, I'm not coming to your country alone, because of the sights. ;-)

We can't know what the situation will be like when we meet. Maybe we want to fly to Medan together to visit the family? Maybe it's a bit overwhelming for you and I'm going there alone? So I would suggest that we decide after we've met whether we'll go there together. The prerequisite for this is of course whether you can take time off from work? I think you'd have to plan for two weeks. I'll of course cover the cost of the flight and everything else. Maybe you also have a wish to travel somewhere you haven't been before? And would you like to show me something?

I've thought again about the timing of the trip. I want to be back in Germany after Christmas, which is December 26th. The reason for this is that the turn of the year is one of the few opportunities to spend time with my son. I last saw him in April this year. He is now 13 years old and lives with his mother in Berlin. We separated when he was two years old and they moved away from me. That means that my departure date would be at the beginning of November. (6 weeks until December 25th)

I found information on this website for a visit to Germany: jakarta.diplo.de When the time comes that it becomes interesting, we can find out more and find a way.

You asked me what I like to eat most. Above all, I am very health-oriented. I have never really liked meat. Unfortunately, we don't have any fresh sea fish because I live too far from the sea. I think it is very healthy. Above all, I eat living food, i.e. fruit and vegetables. I am also a bit lazy when it comes to preparing food.

So, to summarize my suggestion again. I'm coming to your city at the beginning of November and will get a hotel. I'm slowly getting used to the new surroundings and we'll meet up to get to know each other. I'm thinking about a week.

We can go on a few day trips. Then we're wondering whether we'll fly north together to visit the family. Afterward, we could also take a bus back and visit a few interesting places. Maybe book a guided tour? Do you like hiking?
I'd also really like to do something active. It makes sense to get moving every now and then on the long stages by bus.

These are just my ideas. And as I said, I think that everything will turn out the way it should and in a way that is fun and right for each of us.

Best wishes
J
Hello J,

I'm doing just fine. How about you? Lately, I always wake up at 2 or 3 am and can't sleep anymore. Finally, I open my laptop and work from 5 to 10 am. Then, I will have breakfast/lunch, do small things, and then nap. Sleep again at 11 pm and repeat.

I was applied for a passport, but the interview schedule still on October, 7th. Hopefully, it's running well. Someday, I will need a lot of your help if I want to apply for a Schengen Visa, especially how to fill out the form.

Thank you for the amazing travel ideas that you plan. IDK, how do you know that I also love the outdoors and don't like many cities or crowds? When I was young, I also loved hiking, and I preferred the mountains rather than the beach. It's also the reason my heels and toes turned black because in the past I often hiked with only sandals but never shoes.

If you want to see the beach, there are several beautiful beaches in my city. Some can be visited one day tour, others can overnight. I can arrange a day trip for you. I rarely travel except for work-related events or visiting friends, not because I don't like it, but because I lack motivation. :D About the food, we more or less have the same taste. Here you can enjoy fresh sea-fish a little more often if you want.

For hotels while you are in my city, will you arrange it yourself, or do I need to arrange it for you? Maybe a budget hotel would be a good choice since you will be spending a lot of money for the rest of your trip. Budget hotel, around 8EUR/day, around 13/day including breakfast. But, it is also up to you, you can also pick a convenient hotel in the center of the city.

I have read the blog of the German man with his family. I am impressed by how beautiful the place is. I think I already can imagine the journey if we go there. Yes, we can talk about this further if you have arrived. I'll reach out to the family by message if we decide to go there. I can take time off work at any time because I don't have to follow rules, just like you.

I'm happy that you will be spending time with your son. I'm also glad that you stay in touch with him, no matter what the situation is. I believe it's important for fathers and sons to build strong bonds with each other from time to time.

Thank you, J. I learned a lot from you. You are a detailed person, and not many people pay attention to details. I am one of those who love details. Hopefully, everything running well as planned. If there are any unexpected factors, I hope we can find a way to overcome them.

Sincere regards,
R
Hello R,

Now I'm happy to read your message. I didn't get it.

I once had similar sleep disorders to the ones you wrote about. Then I turned off the WiFi overnight and they went away. I try to avoid the radiation. Maybe that's the cause for you too?

It's nice what you're writing to me. About being in love with details and being outside. I prefer to walk barefoot or in sandals :-)

Next week I'll book the flight and the hotel in your city at the same time.

We'll see everything else when I get there. I hope my English works again then. I haven't needed it for a long time. ;-)

There's still a lot to do here before it starts. I'll close my online shops soon so that there's no more work that I can't manage.

Then I'll let you know again when I have the plane ticket. I'm already a little excited.

See you soon.
J
Subject: Good morning

Dear R,
a new day begins. For me 5 hours later than for you.

I hope you had a good week.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Have a nice day.
Kind regards,
J
Dear J,

I wonder whether my previous email has arrived. I'll resend it to you.
Have a nice weekend!

Regards,
R
Hello J,

Have you received my previous email? (I already forward it to you.) Thank you for the picture that you sent to me. It's a beautiful morning.

Unfortunately, I felt a little unwell for the last 3 days. I don't know what happened, I'll take more rest after finishing my work today.

By the way, I remembered your star sign is Libra, so when is your birthday?

Warm regards,
R
It's October 20th and yours?
I was born on Valentine's Day if you celebrate it ;)
Ah, unfortunately, I haven't had a reason to celebrate yet.
Maybe next year. :-)
LOL, hope so! :D
Good morning R,

I will be flying from Germany on November 1st and arriving in your city on November 2nd. I have booked the trip. :-)
I hope you have a nice Sunday.

Warm regards,
J
Good morning J,

So glad to hear that. Next, maybe I will need details starting from the flight schedule and the hotel you book later.
This morning, I woke up at 6.30 am and felt even more excited to receive your email.
Have a nice Sunday, too.

Kind regards,
R
Dear R,

The morning hours this Sunday are wonderful. I read your message. From the balcony, I can see the animals in my small garden eating the fruits of the plants that have ripened over the years. You have to be quiet and attentive to see it.  The woodpecker bird gets the hazelnuts from the bush and cracks them on the tree.

The butterflies are preparing for winter and are looking for a safe place. That's why I leave the doors open so that they can find shelter in my house. In May next year, they wake up from the torpor of winter with the first warm rays of sunshine and leave the house. I then have to make sure that the windows are not locked. These are my joys outside of work. that I have here.

It would be nice to be able to enjoy it with you one day.  Now I'm looking forward to the journey and what wonderful things it has in store for us. I won't send you more details soon.

Greetings from me.
Your J
Good evening J,

When I read your email, it feels like I'm reading a children's storybook with a European background. This is what I feel. It seems like you are a romantic person and pay attention to those around you.

Today, I took a long nap. However, I still worked a few hours (3 hours) to complete the tasks available to me. I'll be going to sleep again now.

May good days continue to be with you.

Warm regards,
R

Hi J,

I wonder if you didn't receive my previous email again, so I resend it to you.

Look what I found today in the front of the yard. This is the flower of a canna-like plant. Due to the dry season, the stems are left in the ground. And when it flowers, the stem disappears.

I hope you have a great day.

Warm regards,
R
Dear R,

I got your message in which you wrote about the European children's books :-)
Unfortunately, I had sent my message (see below) to my own address and didn't get it. :-(

I looked at your flower. Yes, it's strange because the leaves are missing. When I was in Peru, I was in a different climate zone for the first time and didn't find the plants that I usually know. The vegetation is very different. It will be very different where you are too. I'm excited.

It's soon time to prepare for the trip. I've already found some important pages on the Internet where I have to register for visa a and health certificate.

It's time to go to sleep. You'll read it when you get up. Hopefully, you can sleep without interruption.

Have a nice morning.

Best wishes
J

Email from yesterday:

Are you feeling better again?

Yesterday I went swimming in a lake again. Probably the last time this year. I mean here in Europe. ;-) The water is getting colder now because the period of good weather is coming to an end. The first leaves are already falling from the trees in the garden.

How did the new week start for you?

Best wishes to you.
To be continued...

Soulful Escapes: Medan Off the Beaten Path

I briefly mentioned my trip to Bali with J in my previous story.  After another little drama, before we flew to Medan, we spent a sleepless night at Jakarta airport. We had booked accommodation before flying to Medan, but we decided not to take it because we might not make it to the airport on time if we had to stay quite far from the airport. Finally, J canceled the reservation and we both dozed off, almost looking crazy at the airport. As someone who rarely travels by plane, I had no idea how we were supposed to rest properly, even for a short while. Okay, forget about us not resting properly, and then flew to Medan. Which then caused another unnecessary argument with J, triggered by fatigue and our souls wanting to jump out to fight. But, all of that was eventually quickly forgotten. Every time J and I tried to adjust and match ourselves. Of course, it wasn't easy. We both have different cultures, thoughts, and very different ways of living, naturally, little friction will often...

Schengen Visa: The True Test

What's the most stressful? Definitely, applying for a German Schengen visa!   This is a glimpse of my experience applying for a German Schengen visa. Every Schengen visa applicant is required to apply in person by making an appointment, and requests are made online through a third party called VFS Global.  Because I am located in Bandar Lampung, I visited the nearest VFS Global office to my city, which is in Jakarta. Other representative offices are in Surabaya and Bali, which certainly are very far away. I applied for a visitor visa with a declaration of commitment or "Verpflichtungserklärung" from J because honestly my savings were not much left after I bought a round-trip ticket, bought travel insurance, paid the appointment fee, paid for travel expenses to Jakarta and paid for the visa. There are so many costs to be incurred, right? TLDR.  This is the document that needs to be prepared to apply visitor visa: 1. Application form (Original) Fully completed in Germ...

Merhaba!: Turkish Delight

It has been a long time since the last news about a visa appeal to Germany, which did not meet with good results. J became less enthusiastic, and I didn't know what to do. Feeling pretty discouraged, I decided to sign up for a German A1 language course. I needed a distraction and a way to channel my disappointment. Plus, I figured sooner or later, I really needed to learn the language to be able to talk to J properly. The language course was about 10 kilometers from home, with classes four times a week. It was surprisingly fun, and I felt great for pushing myself to learn something new at my age. Seriously, it takes a lot of willpower and determination to stay curious and motivated! I updated J on my progress, and we talked about meeting up somewhere else to see each other. After a few conversations, we decided on Turkey in March. Time seemed to fly by, and my longing for J was almost unbearable. I was so excited to see him and spend time with him again. From March 14th to 24th, 20...
